Save the Lewes 128 bus service.

The County Council are proposing to cut services from Lewes estates to the town centre at crucial times in the morning and afternoon for workers and school students. They're doing this just as the District Council, and local organisations like Transition Town Lewes are doing their best to promote public transport.

Three years ago, the service ran every 20 minutes, now it's only every 30 minutes, and the current proposal will put the service into a death spiral.

Please sign our petition below, and join the mailing list so that you can join us when we present it to the County Council. If you can't think of a comment, just tell us the purpose of your last journey on the 128, or how often you use it.

We, the undersigned call upon East Sussex County Council to retain the full current 128 bus service, to promote the service with full timetables on all bus stops. We believe that more frequent services, running into the evening would encourage better use of the buses, and cut congestion for all road users.
