Gym Centre under threat
Local Liberal Democrats have called on Hillingdon Council to secure the future of a popular local Gymnastics club.
Organisers at the Hillingdon School of Gymnastics have been told their Victoria Road building, the Swallow Centre, has to be inspected and might have to be demolished.
At the same time the Council plans to levy a huge rent and rates increase backdated to the 198o's.
This all comes just as the news comes in that the Swallows has been selected as a training centre for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Local Liberal Democrats want the Council to act quickly to resolve the problems and save the Swallows Centre.
We call on Hillingdon Borough Council to stop playing games with the Hillingdon School of Gymnastics, known as the Swallow Centre and to secure it's future on this site.
Organiser Mike Swallow hopes the Council can be persuaded to help the Gym Centre to continue.
