Parkhead Fire Station provides fire cover to the areas of Shettleston, Carntyne, Riddrie, Haghill, Dalmarnock, Camlachie and Mount Vernon within the city of Glasgow.

Closure is being threatened by Strathclyde Fire & Rescue (SFR). They are preparing a business case that if approved by the councillors on Strathclyde Fire board would result in the closure of the fire station. The nearest fire station for this area would then be in Cambuslang.

I/we urge Strathclyde Fire and Rescue and the Strathclyde Fire Board to recognise how important Parkhead Fire Station is to the community it serves. Any proposal to close it would be a disaster for the area.

Parkhead provides fire cover to the areas of Shettleston, Carntyne, Riddrie, Haghill, Dalmarnock, Camlachie and Mount Vernon. We need to keep our local fire station for these areas.
