There are plans to build 56,400 houses in Gloucestershire over the next 18 years. These plans are set out in the Regional Spatial Strategy (RSS) for the South West.
Alistair Cameron, Liberal Democrat Prospective MP for Tewkesbury believes these plans are excessive and unsustainable for the following reasons:-
I/We object to the plans to build 56,400 houses in Gloucestershire and call for a realistic assessment of housing requirements based on local need.
I/We also believe that development should first of all take place on brownfield sites within existing urban areas rather than extending into our countryside.
