The Worthing Cabinet members considered a report on the future of the promenade cycle route in Worthing on Monday 16th June at the start of National Bike Week!
The report from the Officer working party made it clear that any decision to NOT extend the route beyond Crescent Road would be flawed.
There are a number of very technical legal matters that are being used by the Tories as an excuse to do nothing this year.
But they have agreed in principle to allow a "shared-surface" cycle route from Splash Point to George V Avenue.
Thank you for all your support which has lead to the desired outcome after a long four year campaign.
Worthing promenade Cycle Route has got the go ahead for a SIX month trial.
The Council WILL now allow cycling on the prom beyond the "Western Gateway" at Crescent Road.
We WILL now use this petition to press for a permanent route all the way along the promenade from East Worthing straight through to Ferring in the West ON THE promenade!
