As your local councillors we have been approached by the mobile phone companies Telefonica and Vodafone for our comments on a proposal to build a new mobile phone mast on top of the new block of flats at 219 Blackstock Road.

We would like to know your views on this proposal: new masts are necessary to ensure that the increasing use of mobile phones and mobile internet connections get good reception and the industry insists that they are not harmful to health.  Nevertheless, doubts remain about the long term effect on health of exposure to a high concentration of mobile phone signals, especially where there are a number of masts close to each other: there is already a set of masts belonging to another mobile phone company on top of the Arsenal Tavern at the junction of Blackstock Road and Mountgrove Road.

We the undersigned wish to register our concern about the proposal to install a mobile phone base station on top of 219 Blackstock Road, Highbury, London N5 2LL
