Five Post Offices to close
Labour’s decision to close 2,500 post offices across Britain has arrived in Kingston. They propose to close FIVE post offices locally. We have till the end of March to stop them.
Every post office user in Kingston will be hit by these appalling closures. Even if your usual office is staying open, the chances are queues will be longer. Yet at places like Surbiton’s main post office, the queues are already too long.
However, it is elderly people, the ill and disabled and young mothers with small children at the closing offices who will be hit the worst. Not to mention communities and shopping parades served by those post offices.
Our campaign
So we must campaign to stop the closures.
The post offices to be closed (“depending on consultation”) are:
- Burlington Road, New Malden
- Hook Rise, Chessington
- Norbiton Common, Norbiton
- Plough Green, Old Malden
- Surbiton Road, Kingston
