We Want Weekly Food Waste Collections and Glass Recycling

Reading's Labour council has dragged its feet on recycling for years and has recently cut down collections of food waste to once a fortnight. We think this makes our town dirty and less pleasant to live in; we want a Cleaner, Greener Reading  and we think most residents do to.

Gareth Epps and Reading Liberal Democrats are campaigning to get the council to reinstate Weekly Food Waste Collections for the people of our town. Reading council say they want to provide a "safe and healthy environment" - We say fortnightly collections are not the way to do this and recent government report agrees.

Reading council doesn't even collect glass to be recycled from homes in the borough. They send it to landfill instead which is bad for the environement and actually costs more than recycling!

We're campaigning for the council to introduce Kerbside Glass Recycling like other towns, which will make Reading a greener place to live and save Council Tax-Payers' money!
