Eleven years of occupation!

· 5.000.000 dead since 1996
· 6.000.000 displaced in 2007 (Congolese Ministry of Humanitarians)
· more than 38,000 deaths per month = 1,200 deaths per day
· Hundreds of thousands of women and girls raped (Human Rights Watch HRW)
· 585.000 children dying every year as war consequence
· 1.4 to 1.6 million displaced due to the conflict (UNOCH- UN Office for coordination of humanitarian affairs)
· 80% of transfused blood in DRC is contaminated with HIV ( UNO AIDS)
· 16% of the population, is suffering from severe malnutrition, and the majority is suffering from chronic malnutrition (Ministry of Health DRC)
· 80% of active population are unemployed
· 75% of the population lived with less than a 1$ per day (AFP)
· 5 billions dollars = amount of wealthy spoiled between 1998 and 2002. (IRC)
