More Space for Chickens

The British Government is due to implement the EU Directive on Broiler Chickens very shortly. This could mean stocking densities going up and less space for chickens - even as a little as the equivalent of an A4 sheet of paper per bird. Mike Hancock, MP and Portsmouth Liberal Democrats are campaigning for more space per bird. Please support our campaign by adding your name to our petition below. Thanks!

In implementing the EU Chicken Broiler directive into English Law, we call on the British Government to set a maximum stocking density of 33 kg/m2 and not go up to the maximum of 39 or 42 kg/m2 allowed under the EU directive
