Local Liberal Democrats are shocked by the plans announced to close our local Post Offices. These announcements are part of the Government’s plans to close 2500 Post Offices across the country.
Local Welsh Lib Dem MP Mark Williams said, "I am appalled by this announcement. Our Post Office here is the heart and soul of the community. The Labour government has let us down with this announcement. They say these closures are necessary because the Post Office is not profitable. But they have taken government business away from the Post Offices and have stopped them from expanding their other business. Why should we suffer because of the Labour government’s incompetence?"
Labour and Plaid have failed to support Lib Dem plans in the Assembly to re-open the Post Office Development Fund now, to help try to save some of the Post Offices scheduled for closure.
Help us stop the closure by signing our petition.
We, the undersigned, call on the Government to cancel the plans to close our local Post Offices
