West Berkshire Council is considering plans to build a new Household Waste Recycling Centre ("tip" to you and me) on land near Abbotswood.
The extra traffic that this will bring to the already overstretched A339 will be unbearable, both for existing road-users and for the residents who live opposite the proposed site.
Added to that, concerns about noise, smells and airbourne debris  from the site make the plans wholly inappropriate.
"This is a totally inappropriate plan," says Cllr Julian Swift-Hook, one of the two Lib Dem Ward Members for Greenham.
"The noise, fumes, and congestion from the traffic will make the lives of the locals a misery", claims Billy Drummond, the other Lib Dem Ward Member for Greenham.
Please support us by signing our online petition.
We the undersigned urge West Berkshire Council to reject the plans to build a new Household Waste Recycling Centre at Abbotswood and to consider again the alternatives to replace or refurbish the existing site at Pinchington Lane.
