Your local Liberal Democrats are calling on Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council to get a new swimming pool built in Welwyn Garden City, ideally as part of the Broadwater Road development.  The council is currently developing a master plan for this site, and have indicated that they do not see the need for a pool.

We beg to differ.  We believe it is appalling that the Tory council has so little ambition for the town and would challenge them to identify more than one other town of comparable size  in the South East which does not have its own pool.  Currently, for residents without access to private transport - a very significant minority in Peartree ward for example - the journey to the nearest pools in Hatfield can take almost an hour.

Help us persuade the council of the town's need for a pool by signing our petition.  Better still, print a copy of the petition and get your friends to sign it too!  Better yet, join the Liberal Democrats and help us build a better community.
We agree that Welwyn Garden City needs a new swimming pool.
