The scrapping of the link between pensions and earnings under the Thatcher government is now costing pensioners over £2,730 a month. The Labour Government won't restore the link with pensions for many years.
Portsmouth Lib Dems are calling for a fair deal for pensioners. An increase in the basic state pension by more than £100 a month and the fairer local income tax system.
We, the undersigned call upon Central Government to give an immediate increase in the state pension of at least a £100 a month and introduce the fairer local income tax system.
