Many local people are having real difficulties with the new arrangements for passengers using buses going over Hammersmith bridge.
The new 'interim' bus station is exposed to the elements, with very little protection from inclement weather.
And passengers are having to rush between bus stops and amongst buses to try and catch the next bus going in the correct direction - where as previously bus stops for similar routes were grouped together.
Passengers with mobility problems also report that the walkway toward the new bus station is slippery, without an adequate hand rail.
Susan Kramer MP is taking these issues up with TfL, but please do sign the petition below to put pressure on TfL to make these changes.
I/We the undersigned call upon TfL to redesign the bus station at Hammersmith so that:
1. Buses that travel over Hammersmith Bridge are grouped together, allowing passengers to get on the first bus easily and avoiding the danger of crossing in front of moving buses;
2. There is a proper shelter for passengers, with protection from the elements;
3. There is clear signage to direct passengers to the correct stop;
4. A handrail is provided on the covered walkway, and a better surface to prevent people slipping.
