Campaigning for safer streets in Bristol
Why can't our streets be safer for our children, for pedestrians, for cyclists and for us when driving in our own neighbourhood?

This is a question often asked by Bristol residents who want to see the streets where they live safer for all to use.

Many of our residential roads are narrow and not safe for fast traffic. People avoid walking or cycling because they do not feel safe even in their own neighbourhood.

We believe this is wrong and that is what this campaign is about. We want to introduce a citywide speed limit of 20 mph on the majority of our streets. Major roads would be unaffected but the vast majoirty of residentail roads would be.

Other areas that have done this have seen speeds drop, more people using their streets and people feeling safer in their own neighbourhood.

We are calling on the Government to support the bid that has been made by Bristol City Council and the West of England Partnership for funding for this from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund. If you agree please sign up below.

We call on the Government to back Bristol's campaign to make its residential streets safe through implementing a 20 mile per hour scheme across Bristol. We ask that the Government fully funds Bristol and the West of England bid for the Local Sustainable Transport Fund which will pay for this initiative in Bristol.
