Bath Residents Parking Permit ChargesToo High

WE, the undersigned, request B&NES council Cabinet to reject the proposed residents parking permit charges as outlined in document E1715 (http://www.bathnes.gov.uk/Committee%5Fpapers/Executive/WL/2008/

080222/02E1715ResidentsParkingTRO.htm).

We note that the recommended increases for zones 1-12 will be to £88 from £55 for a first permit, and to £130 from £82 for a second permit. This 60% increase far exceeds the rate of inflation even taking into account that it is three years since the rates were last set. We also object to the extension of paying times to 8.00 pm in the city centre, on the grounds that this will deter visitors to many events which start after 7.30pm.

We believe that these recommendations should not be accepted by the Cabinet member responsible for Parking Services.
