Since Labour took power in 1997 East Hampshire has lost 4 post offices. Alton's Crown Post Office is now under threat of closure in August 2007 with the business being transferred to a WHSmith franchise at its store in Westbrook Walk.

We call on Post Office Ltd and WHSmith to guarantee full Post Office services in Alton for at least twenty years, with no reduction in services or facilities.
