Surrey County Council is managing its roads in a disastrous way. Please sign our petition to put pressure on the tory administration to  improve things.

We the undersigned abhor the way Surrey County Council is running its Highways Department and call on the council to

  • Stop the constant re-organisation of the department (4 times in 2 years)
  • Recruit the number of budgetted officers for the department
  • Begin immediate negotiations to revise or end the Surrey Highways Partnership contracts with Carillion and Ringway
  • Improve the service levels so that residents do not have to wait 20 days for a reply to a query and a further 28 days before anything is done
  • Borrow the original £5 million planned for further investment in Highway maintenance in 2007/8
  • Guarantee that more than £1 million is dedicated to solving flooding issues (not just old money re-allocated in a press release)
